iPhone-Ticker machte auf einen iPhone Blog aus Venezuela aufmerksam. Dieser sollte mit einer Software das iPhone 3G Unlocken. Ich vermutete gleich es handelt sich um einen Fake, die Bestätigung kam auch prompt vom Dev-Team:

“Well just take a quick look at it. He calls it a 3G unlock, but he doesn’t have a 3G iPhone. 99% of the massive zip is simply a custom 2G ipsw made with the devteam pwnagetool, and it causes the IPhone to run the devteam BootNeuter on first boot. Any 2G iPhone that runs BootNeuter like that will already be unlocked (by BootNeuter). And BootNeuter doesn’t (yet, if ever) run on a 3G iPhone.”

Update: Der Entwickler hat sich bei Zibri und dem Dev Team gemeldet und hat auch eingestanden, dass er eine 2G.ipsw hochgeladen hat. Nun will er dem Dev Team und Zibri helfen, indem er seine angebliche 3G Lücke ihnen vorstellt.

Der entscheidente Schuss ins Tor?

Das Dev Team zeigt in seinem aktuellen Blogeintrag mit dem Titel “Sunday is a funday!” , dass es endlich gelungen ist Befehle in das Baseband zu senden. Dieser extrem wichtige Schritt ist wichtig für eine Modifizierung (Unlock) des Basebands.

Es geht also voran, und nach langem Wareten erhalten wir endlich einmal eine richtig gute Nachricht zum Thema Unlock.
